Are you looking for a specific book, movie or cd, or in dire need of information about a certain tricky subject?

It is not always easy to find what you are looking for in our diverse collections and databases. Our skilled staff is happy to assist you in using the library and finding information. We also provide more extensive information retrievals at request.

Ask a Librarian is a free online reference service provided by Finnish libraries. In this service, you may ask anything, and a joint force of 73 participating libraries will find you an answer! You will be answered by e-mail within 3 working days. Be sure to check the service archive in case a similar question has already been previously answered. 
                           

Information retrieval guidance

The library offers group guidance in information retrieval and library use. If you wish to make an appointment for a school group, please contact the children’s department, tel. 017-182 321.

Student and adult groups

The information office of the main library adult department offers information retrieval and library use guidance for student and immigrant groups. The aim of this is to familiarize them with library facilities, rules and collections, as well as teach them how make use of different information sources. The contents of the guidance session can be tailored according to the group’s needs (e.g. web library, other databases accessible in the library, information retrieval on the Internet).

Student and adult groups may make an appointment through the information services of the main library adult lending department, tel. 017-182 319. The booking should be made in advance, preferably 1-2 weeks prior to the desired date. All bookings are taken in order of receipt.
